Shepherd Spring (Wakulla County)

Contact: (850) 925-6121

A very long hike, but a beautiful spring to see. An 8-10 foot alligator was spotted in the spring, swimming is not recommended.

Does anyone know specific directions to paddle from the Wakulla Beach small boat ramp, around the point south east up into Goose Creek, to get to Shepard's Spring?

Goose Creek can be seen looking West from Wakulla Beach. Shepherd Spring may be found on the West bank by taking the West branch after you get past the sharp oyster rise. The East branch may be difficult to locate. In low water the non-navigable spring run is about 4 feet wide. It's a hike thru the swamp but you can keep your feet dry if you are careful.
